JOTT is fast approaching again and this year the event is Saturday, May 9th, 2009.
Jamboree on the Trail is an international scouting event where scouts and scouters take to the trails in their areas to promote scouting in the outdoors.
Many units will incorporate an environmental clean up project, or just to get out and take in the beauty of nature, or to just make the public aware that the scouting movement is alive and well.
I have taken part in Jamboree on the Trail many times just to recharge my batteries and to get away from the rigors of work. It is a peaceful time for me to commune with nature.
All scouts in every country are encouraged to participate in JOTT as another way to show support for their fellow scout brothers and sisters in a global scouting effort.
Another reason to take part in JOTT 2009 is the great patch that a scout designed for the annual event.
Make this your time to remember our brothers and sisters throughout the world and get OUT and get in the world of Scouting!
