Today I had the opportunity to watch a cub pack of mine sell hamburgers, brats, and hot dogs at a local quick mart (gas station and convenience store). It was nothing to unusual but as a struggling pack they put up flyer's and ads to promote the fundraiser and at the bottom of the ad was a footnote that said they would take orders and make deliveries.
An interesting service idea.
While I was there, they received some orders from area businesses and the order was quickly processed and on route to the place that ordered the food within minutes.
- A process faster than any fast food places I have attended.
This group of green leaders and assisting adults worked like a well oiled machine cranking out food faster that anything I have ever seen.
The food was hot and fresh. Nothing left to steam or sit in a hot water bath for an eternity.
Best of all, the area business jumped on board and ordered food for their employees.
Even I made a delivery for the pack.
It was great fun and a wonderful experience for this commissioner to help with the pack and a great way to get to know the leaders and parents of a unit that is trying to turn around a unit on the verge of extinction.
Judging by the care and quality of the food, the friendly service, and the generous support from the community,; I would say that the unit is in good hands and will be growing in membership almost as quick as my waistline.
Oh yeah, I ate my share of brats today!

What a great post! Thank you for sharing it. That's a great way to fundraise and at the same time put Scouting in a positive light in the community.
