5 Star University offers more than scouting degrees

On Saturday, January 29, 2011, Voyageur District will be hosting 5 Star University of Scouting at Lakeshore Technical College, in Cleveland, Wisconsin.
Scouters, who have attended these annual events, know that there are a lot of "extras" that go along with the event besides the opportunity to earn a Scouting Degree.
Training is the predominant goal in attending 5 Star but many scouters do find the one day event as a way to meet new scouting friends, get new ideas for delivering a quality program, and also ask key scouting leaders questions regarding programing which may take place behind the scenes within the District and Council walls.
Many scouters after completing 5 Star will walk away with a scouting degree and some will even write a thesis for their PhD in Scouting.
This event originally began as a "continuing education program" for district volunteers and commissioners but now has expanded the enrollment to include anyone interested in the many leadership roles the program has to offer.
Make plans to attend a 5 Star University of Scouting program.
You will be glad that you did.
