Scouts undercover are still Scouts

Today, I went to my daughter's Christmas concert at her elementary school.
Performing on stage were the students from K - 5th grade and several of those students were both cub scouts and girl scouts from the area.
No scout/student was wearing the uniform for their prospective program but you could tell by the way that they were dressed for the concert and the way that they performed during the concert showed that they were scouts.
Standing tall, smiling, and no signs of mischief that sometimes commonly show up at these events; these "undercover" scouts gave their best to entertain the audience.
Leaving the stage these scouts were the first to wish members of the audience a "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" greeting before leaving the gymnasium for the next group to perform.
Teacher did not have to remind them to be courteous, friendly and cheerful.
They did that without thinking.
There is nothing like seeing scouts spreading joy and cheer even when the uniform is gone.
The actions still shout the principles of scouting.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
